WXNOW Generator
One of the unfortunate limitations of Davis' Weatherlink
software is the inability to conveniently interface with the various APRS
software packages (specifically UI-View) to beacon your weather station data to
RF.
In the summer of 2005, Davis released an SDK to allow software authors to write
add-ins for WeatherLink to provide certain additional functionality. I decided
to write an add-in to generate a WXNOW.TXT file compatible with the requirements
of UI-View (which I use). While the initial add-in was quick to write, once I
put it out for beta test I soon found that there are a few bugs in the SDK, a
few calculations that are much more difficult to get right than they should be,
and some limitations with older Davis weather stations.
Many thanks to my beta testers, who often had to do a lot of work with their
older stations to supply me the data I needed to figure out the limitations (and
bugs). This is the culmination of their effort just as much as mine.
Within the Zip is a text file with installation instructions. Enjoy.

Want another way?
SoftWX has recently implemented added an enhancement to their free VPLive utility. This will interface with your Davis Vantage Pro, extract all the data and (among many other things) generate the WXNOW.TXT file suitable for use with your APRS software. You still need the Davis datalogger, but for those wanting simple data gathering without the additional "bloat" of the larger software packages, this might be just the ticket. I'm not involved with this product at all, just an impressed fellow developer.
