In 2003/2004, 1st Kemptville Scouts chose Astronomy as the target for a Troop Specialty badge. Scouter Brad's favorite site for star-gazing is Heavens Above, developed and maintained by Chris Peat.

Get to the page configured for Kemptville by clicking here. Of particular interest, check out the following links from this main page:

- Under the Astronomy section, click on the Whole sky chart link. This will give you a star chart for the current date and time (which you can change at the bottom of the page). Print this out and hold it overhead (with the 'N' on the chart pointing North) to be able to find objects of interest.

- Also under Astronomy, click on the Solar system chart and Constellations links for

- Under Satellites, click on the 10-day predictions for ISS, the International Space Station. This will show all the times that the space station will pass over us in a manner that might make it visible. How likely you are to see it depends on several factors, but look for passes with negative numbers under Magnitude ("Mag"). The larger the number on the negative side, the brighter it will be. Look for the start time and end time. The "Max Altitude" column will tell you when it will be at its highest point, and how high.
